It's Business As Usual In Times of Hot Weather

Unfazed by the heat, locals seem  to "not mind the blazing sun" as the weather fetches high temperature challenging the ordinary human body's "tolerance",  as many Filipinos  go about town without any shield of protection.

DESPITE THE SEVERAL WARNINGS OF LOCAL AGENCIES REGARDING THE EXTREMELY HOT WEATHER, most locals seem to prefer to walk, shop, move about town without fear of the effects of the hot weather.

Back and forth, up and about, one out of eight Filipinos (a rough estimate), when observed in a span of an hour pattern, only brings an umbrella with them, whether or not they walk solo or with companion.

That means, in about an hour from surveying a crowd, only one person in a span of every 15 minutes, walk by  holding an umbrella to guard against the heat blaze--most of the time, only the women happen to be seen carrying this valuable accessories for the hot weather.

This simple truth astounds as locals have been forewarned already that the weather can fetch  up to 50 degrees in some areas of the country.

This climate change realization probably has not heavily come to the mindset of the locals as many choose to find instant remedies like stuffing their grocery carts with food supplies, an "out of the norm trend.

It has been observed that most locals have shown evasiveness towards queuing up and shopping for groceries except this week, when lines have been visible in provincial malls.

Such unmindfulness to guard against extreme weather by the locals, only proves that it is up to the authorities to "flatlay" the necessary contingencies to protect the populace, should there be a pervasive weather threat that the citizens cannot defend themselves against.

Most locals seem to be only at the bare level of meeting their basic necessities that probably pushed  them back to include the need to prepare, defend and get the right gears against the sun, and perhaps seeing the "simple umbrella" as a dispensible solution.

Majority seem to prefer taking their chances while walking under the sun without proper gears; and would rather stay at airconditioned  malls  to beat the hours with "tambay" window shoppers, who hide from  the hot weather.

The government must be the one to prepare the safety net for many locals instead given this heated necessity.
